Is farming and ranching considered a source of solid waste?
Not usually, but the prudent farmer or rancher should check with his/her state department of environmental protection to ascertain if his/her activities are regulated. Fungicides, herbicides, insecticides, and other chemical substances used on farmland may need a permit for application and/or disposal. The definition of farmland may vary from state to state, in size and in dollar value of amount produced.
